Personal Compatibility

So you think we should be friends?  You think that we have a lot in common?  We’ll just see about that. Take a look at the list of items below. The more of these you agree with, the better chance we’ll get along just fine.

  1. Just because you don’t like something doesn’t mean it’s crap. (There are a few exceptions to this, such as the Twilight movies.)
  2. “I have to return some videotapes” is a valid excuse to leave any situation and cannot be questioned. [ref. American Psycho]
  3. The words always & never should be used sparingly if at all.
  4. You must have seen Fight Club at least 10 times.
  5. The phrase “more than meets the eye” should remind you of Transformers.
  6. The phrase “as you wish” should remind you of The Princess Bride.
  7. You should be intimately familiar with Fight Club, American Psycho, The Princess Bride, and What About Bob?.
  8. Friday is a “black comedy.”  Very Bad Things is a “dark comedy.”
  9. Heavy Metal > most other music.
  10. Holidays are to be celebrated within the the month they occur. It is not acceptable to decorate for Christmas in October.
  11. You are at the movie theater to watch a movie. Any other business needs to be finished before the movie starts.
  12. Movies should be watched until the end credits finish.
  13. Any Friday the 13th is a great day to watch a horror movie.
  14. You should know who Joss Whedon is and be familiar with all of his work.
  15. You should be familiar with directors David Fincher, Sam Raimi, and Wes Craven.
  16. When someone asks what Green Lantern’s weakness is, you should ask which Green Lantern they mean.
  17. It is perfectly acceptable to go to movies, concerts, or other activities by yourself.
  18. You should own a smartphone and know how to use it.
  19. Use the internet to find an answer before asking someone.
  20. Know what your Klout score is.
  21. Pat Benatar’s song “Invincible” should remind you of The Legend Of Billie Jean.
  22. Indoor sports > Outdoor sports
  23. Purell… You should own more than one.
  24. Answering questions with “And then?” should remind you of Dude, Where’s My Car?.
  25. You should be familiar with the work of Jhonen Vasquez.
